Brings to the limelight different innovations, ideas, initiatives and case studies that respond to the needs of vulnerable groups such as the poor and the marginalized, youth, the elderly, and the disenfranchised.
Ensures that all people are included irrespective of their social attributes, distinct sets of behavior, beliefs and religion, different language, different ideologies, and different ethnicity.
Celebrates innovations, ideas, initiatives built by diverse and inclusive teams leading to sustainable businesses and socially cohesive societies.
Mode of entry:
There are four modes of entry:
a) Entry by Application
Individuals and organizations can apply to be considered as DIAR 6th Edition Nominees in any of the awards categories by sending an email to awards@diarawards.com or through the DIAR Awards website.
The applications received will be analyzed and nominees shortlisted in strict adherence to the set award criteria. This is followed by a rigorous internal background research and the review of any submitted documentation to justify their eligibility
b) Entry by Nomination
Members of the public will be invited to front individuals and organizations that they feel are fit to participate in the awards process. Self-nomination or nomination by employees, suppliers or beneficiaries is allowed. After background checks, additional supporting documents maybe requested.
c) Voting
For select award categories, there will be 2-3 week window, whereby the members of the public will be invited to endorse the nominated individuals/organizations by way of voting. The voting process is a platform for nominees to engage their partners, sponsors, supporters, and beneficiaries to affirm their work and push their brand forward. The votes – quantitative aspect – account for 30% while impact/contribution account for 70% – qualitative aspect. These contributes to the
overall ranking and the placement of nominees in the next stage of the awards process.
d) The DEIB & Sustainability Index Survey
The DEIB & Sustainability Index measures how diverse, equitable, and inclusive an organization is according to respondents who are key stakeholders of that organization. It also looks at the practical climate change mitigation strategies that organizations and businesses have employed to achieve energy efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions, and broad ESG factors. The survey also reveals and ranks aspects such as demographics, rates of retention, turnover, adverse effect, pay equity, employee advancement, employee net promoter score (eNPS), employee resource group participation and employee satisfaction/level of belonging, and corporate climate action plans.
Where applicable, national government entities and county governments MAYBE
subjected to any other publicly available ranking and rating by any reputable private or public institution e.g the Public Service Commission, National Council for Persons with Disabilities, National Cohesion and Integration Commission, The Climate Change Directorate, National Gender and Equality Commission, Office of the Auditor General, Council of Governors, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Parliament of Kenya, Nairobi Securities Exchange,and others.
